A & M Ranch and Appel Sporthorses is owned and managed by Molly Appel Morse and her husband, Ian Morse. Molly grew up on a small farm in Los Angeles where her parents raised Arabians, Welsh Ponies, Shetland Ponies, Mini Horses and pygmy goats. From an early age she learned how to take care of horses and livestock. Molly competed in Hunters and Equitation as a junior on the west coast under the instruction of trainers at Rainbow Canyon Ranch (Azusa, CA). Molly competed extensively at one day shows, AHSA/USEF, LAHSA and SFVHA shows. She competed in the Children's Hunters, Junior Hunters, Equitation divisions and, also in medal classes. She was the 1990 LAHSA B Highpoint Champion for ages 15-17. Molly has successfully imported horses from abroad and shown as an adult. In January of 2007 Molly purchased A & M Ranch with her husband, Ian Morse, and enjoys breeding and training young Sport horses. Molly has served on the board of Director's for the Santa Barbara County Riding Club (SBCRC) and the Earl Warren Showgrounds Foundation. She has been a volunteer of the Santa Ynez Valley Equestrian Association (SYVEA) helping to organize the SYVEA Hunter/Jumper shows. She has been a member of the United States Equestrian Association, The United States Dressage Federation, The American Hanoverian Society, The American Connemara Pony Society, KWPN-NA, SBCRC, SYVEA and the American Society of Equine Appraisers. At A & M Ranch we seek to continually broaden our education and perspective of riding and caring for horses.
